- ―Tim Cook
The ninth generation of iPad is a line of iPad tablet computers developed by Apple Inc. The ninth installment in the iPad lineup, it was introduced by Apple CEO Tim Cook on September 14, 2021.[1]
Features[]
The ninth generation of iPad uses an Apple A13 Bionic chip, which comprises a 20% faster CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine than that of its predecessor. It features a 12-megapixel front camera that supports Apple's "Center Stage Mode" technology,[2] which pinpoints the positions of the users and tracks the camera view accordingly to perspectivally centralize them.[3]
Its 10.2-inch display added supports for True Tone, an extension that automatically adjusts the screen color temperature accordingly to ambient lighting. It has a doubled base storage of 64 GB. Starting at $329 and available in silver and space gray, it is pre-installed with iPadOS 15 at release. It also supports the first generation of Apple Pencil and the Apple Smart Keyboard.[2]
